In conjunction with the World Day Against Child Labour, on June 12, 2011, the NGO-Trade Union International Collaboration Forum, the Child Labour Network (CL-Net), and the International Labour Organization (ILO) Office in Japan campaigned against child labour. As part of campaign , a symposium on child labour was held and the file about young girls working in a textile in Bangladesh was showed. About 350 people, including members of trade union the public and students, attended the event.
This event is organized every year as part of the World Day Against Child Labour on June 12.This year's theme was "Changing the world with fashion and protecting children from dangerous and harmful labour."
On the occasion, JILAF, which is a member of both the NGO-Trade Union International Collaboration Forum and the CL-Net, held a panel exhibition on its "School Projects for the Eradication of Child Labour" in India and Nepal, in which it introduced the present state of the child labour problem and its efforts to find a solution.
In addition, ILO Japan Office Director Shinichi Hasegawa gave a lecture titled "Child Labour in Dangerous and Harmful Work," in which he reported on the present situation of child labour.
