Labour‐Related Lecture

The lecturers comprehensively introduce the postwar labour movement in Japan, the organizational structure of trade unions, and the present state and condition of the labour movement, as well as related economic and political aspects. Regarding labour management relations, the lectures, citing examples, cover everything from basic philosophy to actual practice, centered on collective bargaining, the labour-management consultation system, and the spring offensive (shunto) mechanism. Furthermore, the lectures examine issues facing Japanese society at present and how unions should respond and also make proposals concerning issues facing the Japanese labour movement itself and future prospects.
In addition, there is also a lecture on the history and characteristics of Japan's labour legislation and social security system for workers, which are essential for understanding the Japanese labour movement.
