| Training and supporting activities
through seminars and symposiums |
JILAF holds various seminars, symposiums, and workshops in cooperation with such
organizations as ICFTU-APRO, ILO and RENGO.
In particular, JILAF recently has been devoting much effort toward assisting young
women's trade union leaders in Asia and holding seminars and workshops for young
women leaders in several countries every year jointly with the ICFTU-APRO. Also,
in cooperation with the ILO and RENGO, JILAF has been holding workshops in Africa
titled "Productivity Improvement and the Role of Unions" since fiscal 1997 and
has been dispatching instructors to these workshops. |
Exchange of views on labor situation |
In Japan also, JILAF holds international symposiums and lecture meetings, either
independently or in cooperation with RENGO. It also organizes meetings titled
"Exchange of Views on labour Situation" for foreign union leaders when they are
invited to Japan. Through these lectures and symposiums, JILAF gives Japanese
unionists an opportunity to learn important international labor issues and labor
situations in other countries.
In addition, JILAF organizes symposiums on international issues of current public
interest in cooperation with RENGO. For example, it organized one on the new era
of NPO in 1997 inviting resource persons from the United States, a report of which
was published. Also in 2001, it held the first seminar jointly with Korean International
Labour Foundation (KOILAF) on Industrial Relations.
