2009 China-Korea Team
A team of 10 persons (including 4 women), 5 each from China and the Republic of Korea, was invited to Japan from October 18 to 30, 2009.
Because of reconstruction work following the Sichuan earthquake and other factors, China did not participate in the invitation program in the previous fiscal year, so Chinese participants were taking part for the first time in two years.
The participants approached the program with enthusiasm. At the labour-related lectures and places visited they eagerly asked questions and stated their opinions while referring to the labour situation in their own countries.
In particular, they showed a strong interest in such issues as the impact of the financial and economic crises since the fall of 2008, efforts relating to non-regular workers, measures to achieve a work-life balance in Japan, the productivity movement, and the relationship between labour unions and politics.
Although the social systems and labour unions are different in Japan, China, and the Republic of Korea, they share many common issues, and the participants were able to deepen their exchange through the program.
