Organising Seminar was held jointly by JILAF and Vietnam General Confederation of Labour (VGCL) from 19 to 21 in Vinh Phuc, Vietnam with 30 VGCL members from mainly Japanese companies in Vinh Phuc.
Vinh Phuc is a suburb of Hanoi, Vietnam and there are many industrial parks.
7 Japanese companies are operated in the province. It used to have Industrial parks which Toyota company and Honda company are located. After Me Linh county, a part of Vinh Phuc, was merged by Hanoi, there is now one industrial park which Japanese company invested. However, it appears that number of companies which enter into this area will be increasing as good location with 15 kilometer from the airport.
In this seminar, Mr. Hayashi, Director, Department of Organizational Affairs of JTUC-RNGO, made sessions on Japanese labour and management relations and collective bargaining in Japan, with focusing on strengthening capability of organizer. Also Vietnamese side made reports on the current labour situation in Vinh Phuc and Vietnam as a whole.
The participants are organizers for Industrial parks and union leaders of Japanese companies. They made reports on their union activities such as "establishment of consultation service for the union member" and "grievance handling by labour management joint patrol worksite" which are often seen in unions in Japan. The participants said that they would like to make good use of information which they gained in this seminar.
