Mongolia
The POSITIVE programme was introduced in Mongolia from fiscal 1998, making that country the fourth to receive the program following Bangladesh. The selection and skill development of core trainers and the grooming of local trainers are being conducted in a lively manner and have taken root within organizational activities. POSITIVE activities have been taken up in the national plan for occupational safety and health devised by the government, labour, and management. Efforts are proceeding in cooperation with the administration to implement seminars, build a national network of trainers, and, utilizing this network, collect examples of improvement.
The headquarters of the Confederation of Mongolian Trade Unions (CMTU) plays the central role in planning and managing seminars. With the cooperation of the administration and employers, steady improvements by trainers are being seen in various regions.
